Legal Separation
The law in Washington State allows married couples to live completely separate and apart, their assets and liabilities are divided and a parenting plan established for their children along with child support and spousal maintenance orders. Do not be fooled—the only difference between a legal separation and a divorce is that your marriage, on paper, still exists and even that can be terminated six months after a decree of legal separation.
Make sure you know your rights before you enter into a legal separation. We can help you understand those rights and make sure the outcome is what your expected.
